CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff. | |
ROLE PURPOSE: The Adolescent & Youth Development Officer will support the meaningful engagement empowerment and participation of adolescents and youth across all stages of the PATHWAY project a gender-transformative initiative focused on improving adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Egypt. The Officer will work closely with project staff community structures youth groups and local partners to ensure that young people particularly girls and marginalized youth are meaningfully involved in shaping and benefiting from the project. The role will also contribute to capacity building youth-led initiatives and the integration of adolescent perspectives into programming advocacy and decision-making processes. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. | |

Planning and Reporting
Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL):
Capacity Building & Leadership Development Design and deliver training sessions and mentoring programs on leadership life skills SRHR gender equality and advocacy. Build the capacity of project staff and partners on adolescent engagement safeguarding and do-no-harm practices. Support the integration of age-appropriate gender-sensitive education and communication materials across project activities. Coordination & Collaboration Work closely with technical leads in Gender Equality Community Mobilization and SRHR to align youth engagement with project goals. Collaborate with schools youth networks and community organizations to strengthen safe and inclusive spaces for adolescents.

Other Duties: Ensure compliance with Save the Childrens policies and procedures including child safeguarding gender equality and code of conduct. Undertake any other tasks as assigned by the Senior Health Officer or Project Manager in support of the project. | |

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in Social Work Public Health Education Youth Development Gender Studies or a related field. Training in adolescent development SRHR gender inclusion or youth engagement is an asset.
