Job Summary

Newbury Elementary School is seeking a long-term substitute classroom teacher starting in January 2026 through June 1 2026. The average classroom size of 15 which allows for flexible groupings and project-based learning. Teachers work together to implement instruction through the use of Illustrative Mathematics Heggerty Bridge to Reading Handwriting Without Tears Heggerty Phonics and Guided Reading education and community based learning experiences are key components of our educational programming. Each week students take advantage of learning in our eleven acre forest school classroom. Area farms invite our students to learn and explore throughout the school year. We are proud to incorporate Project Wild Trout in the Classroom and onsite composting & gardening into our instructional experiences for teachers can expect a mentor with weekly meetings for the first year and into the second year if addition to mentoring outside consultants work with teachers on self designed support.
