The Role

As our new Senior Product Designer at Prolific you will take your place as one of the movers and shakers of Prolifics Product Research and Design Group.

Impact: You will be responsible for the design of products services and customer experiences for such groups as data collectors financial controllers and integrating developers. This is a career-defining opportunity to shape how some of the worlds biggest technology companies are building AI and interacting with the humans building AIno big deal! Youll work in a flat and cross-functional technology team full of mavericks and negotiators and youll be expected to do the same.

Domain: We operate in the infrastructural layer of AI models providing fairly compensated human data to build fine-tune and align / evaluate AI systems. Key to success in this domain is being able to grasp and improve complex orchestration journeys for the collection of data from machines and humans and the journeys that enable this (such as payments and APIs). Youll often operate with low signals and low data in emerging AI use cases and markets.

Responsibilities: You will be responsible for product design for a value stream and will be embedded in a team alongside engineers product managers and data scientists. Youll build and advocate for functional and delightful customer journeys that pack a lot of value. Youll work experimentally and iteratively with colleagues from several disciplines. Youll conduct user research independently with the help of our consulting user researchers. Youll be the person accountable for customer experience and satisfaction in your domain.

What youll be doing

• Designing meaningful products: Identify and solve a wide range of problems through thoughtful discovery definition and design.
• Think strategically: Look beyond the immediate task to connect the dots shaping the product at a high level spotting missing pieces across the experience and ensuring design decisions align with the bigger picture.
• Shaping outcomes that matter: Help define monitor and improve product experience experience for Prolific users
• Elevating design at scale: Contribute to our design system and evolve our design processes to enable designing faster more consistent and enjoyable experiences.
• Driving a culture of experimentation: Explore and outline a range of solutions to solve a customer and business problem. Champion data informed design and rapid prototyping iterating quickly to deliver value.

How youll do it

• Understand people deeply: Build a deep understanding of the motivations and behaviours of data collectors account administrators integrating developers and participants through workshops research and feedback loops.
• Design journeys with impact: Create flows user journeys and mental models that help our users to achieve their goals.
• Bring ideas to life: Produce service maps wireframes and prototypes that inspire clarity and collaboration.
• Validate and refine: Test and evaluate prototypes and experiments for usability value and feasibility to ensure we solve the right problems the right way.
• Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with the product and engineering team to co-create design solutions and roll-out strategies.
• Inspire and influence: Tell the story of your design decisions with clarity and confidence articulating the reasoning behind them across the whole Prolific team helping elevate the role of design throughout Prolific and inspire others with your vision.

What youll bring

Youre comfortable with asynchronous and synchronous working that is fast-paced and constantly changing. You are a deep systems thinker who is curious about peoples behaviour and passionate about how great design can improve user productivity and enjoyment. You understand product design principles and have long practical experience using them.

• Design tools such as Figma.
• Experience with information architecture and mapping complex systems and business processes.
• Experience of interface design and a deep understanding of good visual and interactive design in dynamic contexts.
• Comfort with product analytics and A/B or multivariate testing
• Experience working in fast-paced environments.

Even better if you have

• Knowledge of B2B and Enterprise customer needs and how to delight them.
• Knowledge of the AI development landscape and how humans are involved in training them.
• Knowledge of developer experience APIs and common developer tools.
• Proven success in a scale-up environment.
• Inclusive design and accessibility.
