Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Project Management Specialist (Level 3) to join the Executive Fleet Program Management team in San Antonio TX!

BDS is a global leader in the development production maintenance and enhancement of fixed-wing and rotary wing aircraft commercial and government satellites human spaceflight programs and weapons. Key markets include aeronautics space and weapons. Core capabilities are in development production and mission enabling upgrades of integrated solutions. BDS delivers the most digitally advanced simply and efficiently produced and intelligently supported solutions to its customers.

Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position along with the ability to build strong relationships collaborate in a cross-functional environment and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Independently develops coordinates integrates analyzes and maintains an integrated plan and schedule to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards.
  • Performs studies analysis (trend variance impact) risk assessments to determine impacts and constraints involving product development production rates process improvement program initiatives.
  • Creates schedule reports metrics change activity communicates and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project.
  • Works to improve project management processes business systems and implement best practices that support project decision makers.
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Manages Risk Issues and Opportunities for the assigned projects.
  • Provides in-depth analysis of project culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans.
  • Ensures the assigned team is executing the identified and assigned tasks and providing appropriate tracking and reporting per plan.
  • Oversight and management responsibility (including performance management & reporting) for a portfolio of small to medium size projects in support of organizational the goals and objectives.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers stakeholders and peers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1 years of experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Strong communication problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience in a role that required teaming and collaboration skills and ability to work well with a geographically dispersed cross-functional and matrix team

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher
  • 3 years of experience working with and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience with subcontract program management or subcontract management.
  • Experience in developing and managing metrics RIO RCCA and Lean
  • Experience in a business or engineering related function (including but not limited to: Finance Contracts Estimating Procurement Financial Analysis Business Operations Supplier Management Marketing & Sales Human Resources Engineering Staffing)
  • Experience in aviation or aviation related activities
  • Active Top Secret clearance is preferred
