RN-NICU Director (Permanent Role) Location: Austin TX 73301
Shift: Variable Shift
Guaranteed Hours: (36 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the NICU ensuring quality and efficiency in care delivery.
- Oversee budgeting staffing scheduling and performance evaluations within the NICU.
- Develop and implement departmental goals standards and policies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians nurses and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all state federal and regulatory body requirements including Joint Commission standards.
- Promote a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment onboarding and retention of NICU staff.
- Provide mentorship and leadership development to nursing staff.
- Monitor key performance indicators and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelors Degree or approved education plan required.
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Masters Degree preferred.
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or an active compact license.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred.
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) preferred.
- RNC-OB certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare is required.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a NICU Director role is required.
