The Position

The Opportunity

You as a Business Development Consultant play a critical role in identifying evaluating driving and realizing new business and growth opportunities within the Hungarian healthcare landscape.

You drive strategic initiatives manage key customer relationships and help expand Roche Diagnostics presence in public and private healthcare sectors. You work across functional teams external partners and key stakeholders to expand Roches diagnostic footprint in Hungary with a focus on market development partnerships and commercial innovation. This role combines deep market insight customer engagement and strategic execution to drive business results and sustainable growth.

  • Identify new business opportunities and growth segments within the Hungarian diagnostics and healthcare environment and identify market trends customer needs and emerging opportunities that align with Roche Diagnostics strategic goals in Hungary.

  • Analyze competitive landscape and develop recommendations for growth opportunities new business models and partnerships and develop and implement go-to-market and account development strategies aligned with Roches local and global business goals.

  • Tailor approaches to the Hungarian healthcare landscape regulatory context and reimbursement frameworks and support the shaping of value-based healthcare and health system engagement initiatives through innovative partnerships.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key opinion leaders key decision-makers in hospitals labs public institutions and private providers and engage with national and regional stakeholders including Ministry of Health representatives procurement bodies and associations to promote Roches diagnostic offerings. Lead negotiations and manage ongoing relationships to ensure mutual success.

  • Oversee the lifecycle of strategic business development initiatives from ideation through implementation and post-launch support and manage pilot projects public tenders or national program engagements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Support market shaping initiatives.

  • Monitor and report on business performance metrics (e.g. revenue pipeline market share) and track business development KPIs and provide regular updates to senior management

  • Act as a mentor and key point of contact in business development-related topics and initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Medical Sales Marketing Professional Technical Services) to ensure comprehensive and tailored customer solutions.

Who you are

  • University degree in Life Sciences Business Economics or Healthcare-related field (MBA is an advantage) with minimum 5 years of experience in Business Development Sales/Marketing or strategic roles in healthcare or diagnostics

  • Strong understanding of the Hungarian healthcare system including public procurement and reimbursement processes and proven track record of driving growth and managing complex stakeholder relationships and experience in managing projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Business acumen impactful customer and stakeholder communication excellent consulting presentation and negotiation skills and strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Acting in line with the Visionary Architect Coach Catalyst (VACC) model

  • Fluent in Hungarian and English both written and spoken and willingness to travel within Hungary and occasionally abroad.
