Job Summary
As a Senior State and Local Government Container/Serverless Specialist Solution Architect you will drive the adoption of AWS container and serverless services across government entities while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and security. Youll leverage deep expertise in container services (ECS EKS App Runner) and serverless technologies (Lambda EventBridge Step Functions) to help government agencies modernize their critical workloads. Working closely with field and central teams youll champion government customer needs curate feature requests and ensure compliance requirements are met for unique public sector use cases.
Your role includes maintaining technical standards for specialist artifacts supporting go-to-market strategies and leading field marketing initiatives focused on government modernization. As a thought leader in public sector technology transformation youll contribute to AWS Government blogs whitepapers and speaking engagements.
Additionally youll build and nurture an AWS internal community of container and serverless experts focused on government solutions creating enablement materials that help Solution Architects integrate modern architectures into government workloads while meeting strict public sector requirements.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the State and Local Government Container/Serverless Specialist Solution Architect team driving adoption of AWS container and serverless services in government entities.
- Partner with field and central teams to champion government customer needs for container and serverless solutions. Lead curation of feature requests and compliance requirements for unique government use cases.
- Provide deep technical expertise in container services (ECS EKS App Runner) and serverless technologies (Lambda EventBridge Step Functions) to help government agencies modernize critical workloads.

- Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers
- Bachelors degree in computer science engineering mathematics or equivalent
- 5 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
- 5 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
- 3 years of experience in designing architectures implementation experience and workload migrations to the Cloud in migration and modernization services (Kubernetes Container services)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
