Job Summary

Summary

AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Lab Technician with prior relevant experience and/or education to provide sample preparation and chemical analysis of the day-to-day production activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

Comply with all AMG V safety and environmental requirements policies and procedures including AMGs Code of Business Conduct
Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities; foster and promote a positive respectful work environment that is aligned with AMGs values
Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA NFPA etc.) Environmental Permit Requirements and company standards
Provide sample preparation and chemical analysis in a production/heavy industrial facility laboratory
Responsible for instrumentation validations
Support or produce lab reports as required
Perform quality system checks and record
Support quality department by performing procedure reviews
Keep the lab and equipment clean and operational
Support quality and lab programs - training and audits

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
1 2 years laboratory experience
Able to work 12-hour swing/rotation shifts (weekends included)
Able to follow procedures with accuracy
Knowledge of chemistry and lab equipment helpful
Ability to understand technical processes
Data analysis and record keeping skills
Problem solving and numeracy skills
Time management and organizational skills
Good follow through skills as well as heightened attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Excel and Project
Great housekeeping skills

Preferred Qualifications

Familiar with XRF and Leco Technique
