About the Position:
The Police Dispatcher I (FLEX) performs general and routine dispatching activities. Operates computerized dispatch radio 911 and ancillary equipment in a police communications center. Receives interprets and codes routine and emergency calls and dispatches personnel and equipment in response following clear policies and protocols. This positionwill require working a varied work shift that includes evenings weekends and holidays.
The Ideal Candidate:
Education Training and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D.
AND
At least one (1) year of customer service experience working with the public in person by telephone or in radio communications; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California drivers license is required.
Typing speed of 30 words per minute is required.
