Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced General Manager of Food and Nutrition Services to oversee all dining operations at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital one of Washington DCs leading academic medical centers.

This senior leadership role is ideal for a healthcare food service executive who thrives in a union environment and is passionate about operational excellence innovation and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations for food and nutrition services including retail dining patient meal services and catering operations.
Ensure the highest quality of food nutrition and hospitality services across the 609-bed hospital.
Develop and execute strategic plans that align with client goals and hospital standards.
Manage budgets financial targets and cost-control initiatives.
Build and maintain strong client and customer relationships including executive-level (C-suite) engagement.
Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain strict standards for HACCP and food safety.
Lead mentor and develop a diverse team of managers and frontline staff.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience (required).
5 years of management experience in food and nutrition services ideally in a healthcare environment.
Demonstrated success in union management and labor relations.
Strong financial acumen with a proven ability to meet and exceed performance goals.
Excellent leadership team-building and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office reporting tools and operational systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a customer-first mindset.
