Your mission

TheInternational Civil Society Centre (Centre) islooking fora consultant to develop a practical guide that supports(international)civil society organisations in stress-testing and part ofthe Centres ongoing initiative Anticipating futures for civil society operating space this guide will provide hands-on foresight methods that enable (I)CSOs to critically review their strategies against different future scenarios and adapt themto strengthentheirresiliencein a rapidly changing world.

The consultant willbe taskedwithdraftingan accessible step-by-step guide that introduces foresight approachesfor testingorganisationalstrategiesand translates them into actionable tools tailored to the specific needs of (I)CSOs.A draft version will be presented to the Centres Scanning the Horizon community in December 2025 to gather feedback and additional ideas.

Your profile

The external consultant should possess the following qualifications and skills:

At least 5 years of experience in foresightandfutures thinkingideally complemented bystrategic planningexperience
Proven ability to translate foresight concepts into accessible practical tools
Familiarity with the civic space context and challenges faced by (I)CSOs
ExcellentEnglishwriting skills
Ability to explain complex issues in a clear and accessible way
Strong ability to work independently manage time effectively and meet project deadlines

The consultancy will run from mid-October to mid-December 2025 with key milestones:

Outline: by27October 2025
First version of the guide: by25November2025
Feedback incorporation and second version of the guide: by5December 2025
Presentation at the Scanning the Horizon meeting: 11 December 2025

Estimated time requirement: 1012 working days
