Position Mission:

Are you driven by technical challenges and eager to be part of a global company leading the energy transition with sustainable and digital solutions ABB is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join the PAEN (Process Automation Energy Industries) division with a focus on the Oil & Gas sector. If you have field service experience strive for excellence in customer service and want to directly contribute to the efficiency and safety of critical operations this opportunity is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform field service activities on excitation systems including commissioning preventive and corrective maintenance ensuring quality and compliance with safety standards.

  • Diagnose technical failures in excitation systems on-site or remotely and propose effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Engage with customers to identify operational improvements system optimizations and new service opportunities related to excitation systems.

  • Prepare detailed technical reports and ensure proper documentation of all service activities with customer validation.

  • Act as a technical reference in excitation systems supporting team members and delivering training sessions when needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in service activities involving excitation systems (mandatory).

  • Availability for frequent travel.

  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Fieldbus Modbus and Profibus.

  • Degree in Automation Electrical Engineering or related fields.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with DCS systems such as ABB 800xA.

  • Knowledge of the Oil & Gas sector and experience in offshore environments.

  • Intermediate English (preferred) for technical reading and communication.
