ASSYST is seeking a highly experienced Lead Mainframe Systems Programmer to support our government client in Austin TX.

Responsibilities
- Perform highly advanced (senior-level) systems administration in support of agency mainframe applications and supporting infrastructure.
- Coordinate day-to-day system administration functions such as mainframe configuration break/fix system support and base user account creation/support.
- Provide security administration support performance monitoring security monitoring and system maintenance.
- Support data entry and control work processes oversee and coordinate mainframe operations in the States Consolidated Data Center Services (DCS) and collaborate with Network Administration Customer Support and Applications Development & Support teams for day-to-day operations.
- Apply expert knowledge and experience as a Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer to support both Legacy Systems and the Mainframe Transformation Team.
- Provide primary support for z/OS operating systems and system components including planning implementation and testing of releases upgrades or changes.
- Provide administrative support for CICS IMS and SCLM.
- Support assigned Independent Software Vendor (ISV) products such as BlueZone.
- Diagnose platform software and related product issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Analyze and address performance issues; provide input and recommendations for system-wide capacity planning performance tuning parameters and system libraries management.
- Serve as technical lead on internal team projects or participate on project teams impacting the z/OS platform.
- Provide support for integration testing of new products with existing applications and user procedures.
- Maintain and provide technical support for Mainframe Production Control Support Jobs and monthly Mainframe Job Scheduler.
- Provide technical consultation and support to other IT teams.
