At Northwest Animal Care Hospital we offer primary and intermediate care for dogs cats pocket pets avians and reptiles. Our well established 6 DVM practice has been serving the Everett community for over 20 veterinarians and staff provide quality care and great experiences for pets and pet owners through every life stage. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician youllplayan important rolein petslives byprovidingend-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care offacilitatingoutpatient treatments surgical assistance and performing laboratory tests to support services including hospitalized patient care and admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care advocate for pets and educate clients during outpatient appointments.
  • With each hospital functionassistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
  • Obtain pertinent health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
  • Assistinmaintainingrelevant comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Perform anesthesia and sedation induction and monitoring dentistry including dental radiographs and charting obtain diagnostic radiographs and provide nursing care as instructed by the DVM to hospitalized patients.
  • Use safe restraining techniques follow standard protocols and sustain clean sterile organized treatment areas surgical suite exam rooms and labs.
  • Prepare patients medications and equipment for examinations surgery dentistry and sedated procedures.
  • Collect and prepare patient lab samples for in-house and reference lab diagnostic screening.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance onThrive Membershipoptions medications andadditionaltreatments.
  • Be willing to guide mentor and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Current Washington State Veterinary Technician license.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Perform basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs venipuncture intravenous catheter placement medication administration etc.
  • Able to enter medical notes and maintain medical records; can type 45 wpm minimally.
  • Able to lift 40lbs unassisted.
  • Strong desire to practice empathetic gold standard medicine benefiting our patients through all life stages.
  • Positive kind and provide trustworthy communication to patients team members and clients.
  • Have the desire to constantly grow and advance as a valued team member!


Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of two years experience as a licensed veterinary technician with proficiency in anesthesia and are open Mon-Fri 7am-6pm Sat 8-4. A typical work week consists of five 8-hour shifts which include rotating Saturdays.
Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate of$28-31 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills qualifications experience and location.
