Your new role

The Op Shop Sorting Room Assistant role oversees the sorting and processing of donated items in the Uniting Op Shop Hub in Brunswick. This role ensures high-quality stock for the shop floor by managing the sorting process training and supervising volunteers and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Its a great opportunity to be part of a friendly community its lively and varied! This is an ongoing part-time role working 48 hours per fortnight.

Our Op Shops team are responsible for bringing their creative flair to create visually appealing and contemporary Op Shops. We encourage and build a culture of productivity imagination innovation change and development. Our Op Shops allow you to tap into your natural way of being creative enthusiastic and having fun.

Our aim is to delight people in a meaningful and memorable way while offering positive customer experiences high level visual merchandising critical stock and space management achieving sales targets and celebrating Unitings culture.

In addition to your base salary of $28.12 per hour plus super and weekend penalty rates (if applicable) you can access the following:

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will have a passion for fashion and charity retail and have a flair for visual merchandising.

You will also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with volunteers staff and customers.
  • The ability to perform physical tasks associated with sorting and moving donated items.
  • A keen eye for detail to identify quality items ensure accurate record-keeping and maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the Op Shop and a positive team-oriented approach.
