Are you a passionate Pediatrician with expertise in delivery newborn care and special care nursery The Department of Neonatology at Childrens Minnesota has an incredible opportunity for Pediatricians to join our Neonatology team.
Childrens Minnesotas neonatology department encompasses the largest high-risk neonatal care program in the Upper Midwest and the fourth-largest neonatal program in the U.S. Our team of over 20 neonatologists 80 neonatal advanced practice providers and 500 nurses and support staff provide exceptional care for more than 1900 neonatal visits per year. We also offer neonatal transport for over 500 neonatal patients annually.
Our comprehensive neonatal services program includes Levels IV III II and step-down care units with a combined bed capacity of nearly 200 beds. This program is a collaborative effort between Childrens Minnesota neonatal and pediatric services Allina Health Systems fetal and maternal services and The Mother Baby Centers at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis United Hospital in St. Paul and Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Our neonatal program extends to multiple community sites in both the east and west metro areas.
Position Summary
The role of the neonatal hospitalist will be in attending deliveries doing procedures and managing patients in the neonatal intensive care units at Childrens Minnesota with the supervision provided by neonatologists present in-house 24/7.
Opportunity Highlights
*Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Pediatrics
*Current State of Minnesota Medical License and DEA Certificate
*Current NRP and BLS certifications
*Hospital credentials and member of the professional staff at Childrens Hospitals and Clinics of MN and sites.
Experience:
*Residency experience in delivery room newborn and/or NICU
*Knowledge and experience with quality improvement work safety initiatives systems-based practice patient-centered care
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Understanding and management of the medical and surgical issues of the neonatal population of patients cared for in the NICU with the direct supervision by the neonatologist.
*Ability to work in a collaborative care model with all members of the health care team and patient families.
*Develop and perform procedural skills for the management of the patient in the delivery room and NICU including neonatal resuscitations.
