The Role:
Entegris is currently seeking an R&D Scientist- Carbon/SiC to join our R&D team. This position will be based in our POCO Materials facility located in Decatur Tx.In this role you will report to the manager of Research and Development and lead advanced carbon and silicon carbide research activities defining needs planning and executing R&D activities predominantly relating to carbon and silicon carbide science and post processing methodologies.
What Youll Do
Research and develop new materials technology
Become an expert on our material production and post-processing methods
Drive innovation in SiC and carbon/graphite technologies through understanding leadership and creativity
Contribute to determining product strategies and aid in identifying chemical and synthesis design spaces that address current and future customer needs
Lead teams in releasing development processes into manufacturing
Manage multiple projects simultaneously including establishing timelines allocating resources and overseeing project milestones. Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders on project progress.
Collaborate with university and/or external research efforts.
Work with internal and external customers to solve complex challenges.
Other projects as assigned.
What We Seek
Ph.D. in a relevant technical field i.e. chemistry physics materials science etc. with experience in carbon or carbide materials systemsrequired
Hands-on experience in material characterization including microscopy spectroscopy and/or mechanical testing
Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle multiple tasks
Ability to flourish as part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Highly innovative - able to connect abstract information into actionable plans
Ability to invent and implement practical solutions to complex problems.
