DescriptionWe are searching for an Clinical Ambulatory Services Representative II-- someone who works well in a fast-paced this position you will provide excellent customer service as the first contact for patients providers and staff accessing ambulatory clinics. You will expedite the outpatient check-in and check-out processes by reviewing appointment status using electronic appointment system to view information regarding appointment insurance and history. You will also collect pre-visit payments and communicate with the clinic liaison regarding factors impacting the patient visit and general clinic-patient flow. You will also secure the financial integrity of the patients account by verifying benefits and obtaining referrals authorizations and pre-certifications.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant required in one of the following certifications:
- CCMA - Cert-Cert Clinical MA - CCMA National Health Career Association (NHA)
- CMA-AAM - Cert-Cert Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CMA-C - Clinical Medical Assistant Certification American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
- EMT - Emergency Medical Techn Texas Department of State Health Services
- EMT-A - Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health Services
- EMT-B - Emergency Medical Techn-Basic Texas Department of State Health Services
- EMT-I - Emergency Medical Techn-Interm Texas Department of State Health Services
- EMT-P - Emergency Medical Techn-Parame Texas Department of State Health Services
- LIC PAR - Lic-Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services
- NCMA - National Cert Med Assistant National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- NRCMA - Nat Reg Cert Med Assistant National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)
- RMA - Registered Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Personnel American Allied Health American Medical Technologists or American Registry of Medical Assistants
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-years experience in a clinical setting required
- Healthcare and/or Pediatric experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs patient registration procedures per department process
- Obtains and verifies patient demographic data for each encounter
- Confirms patient appointments verifying patient demographics and insurance information
- Enters batches and reconciles charges daily
- Ensures that interpreter services are available for patients as needed
- Provides basic office support including ordering and maintaining office/clinic supplies; maintaining office equipment; managing correspondence; copying faxing mailing and filing documents; and collecting and distributing mail
- Serves in key role to assure most efficient patient throughput in exam rooms
