Position Purpose
At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center the Nurse Manager of the Trauma Program leads the development coordination and evaluation of our Level I Trauma Center. This role ensures compliance with American College of Surgeons (ACS) guidelines and supports trauma medical staff and departments involved in trauma care. The Nurse Manager drives excellence in care delivery data integrity and performance improvement.
What You Will Do
Manage daily operations of the Trauma Program in alignment with ACS standards.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize trauma care and outcomes.
Oversee trauma registry reporting and support performance improvement.
Lead staff education and training in trauma care best practices.
Ensure regulatory compliance and promote a culture of safety and compassion.
Contribute to policy development and trauma program accreditation readiness.
Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
Valid and current Connecticut RN license.
Familiarity with current trends and practices across the trauma care continuum.
Preferred
The ideal candidate will have three or more years of Trauma ICU or Emergency Room nursing experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.
Leadership experience in trauma program coordination or management.
Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager experience with trauma-related responsibilities.
Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
TNCC certification and other trauma-related certifications.
