The RF DOCSIS Test Engineer resides in the Lab Services department at CableLabs. This department is responsible for the execution of DOCSIS Certification as well as all commercial testing engagements. Our team plays a crucial role in delivering results that ensure compliant and robust Cable Modems and Wireless equipment is available to our members.

We are seeking a highly skilledCertification RF Test Engineerwith proven expertise in DOCSIS technologies and RF system testing for the cable industry. This role is critical in validating the performance compliance and reliability of DOCSIS-based equipment ensuring products meet rigorous certification standards and industry specifications.

What Youll Do:

  • Maintaintest environment procedures and scriptsto evaluate RF performance and interoperability.
  • Conduct RF certification tests on DOCSIS equipment and prepare detailed documentation.
  • Operate and maintain advancedRF test and measurement equipment including Averna ePIDoX spectrum analyzers signal generators and oscilloscopes.
  • Analyze test results troubleshoot performance issues and provideclear technical recommendationsfor corrective actions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams that define specifications and acceptance test procedures (ATPs) accurately execute those tests and collaborate to troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Stay current with DOCSIS standards RF technologies and cable industry trends to guide test strategies.
  • Support certification processes bypreparing reports and documentationfor internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What Is a Must Have:

  • 5 years of experiencein RF testing certification or system verification within the cable industry.
  • Priorhands-on DOCSIS experienceis mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge ofRF circuit design signal integrity and system-level interactions.
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers signal generators oscilloscopes network analyzers etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability tograsp new concepts quicklyand apply them effectively.
  • Collaborative communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Familiarity withcable modem CMTS and network system testing.
  • Prior experience with Averna and ePIDoX PHY test systems.
  • Experience withautomation tools and scripting languagesfor test execution (e.g. Python tcl).
  • Knowledge ofcompliance and certification processeswith CableLabs or similar industry organizations.
  • Experience testing of Wireless technologies.

Compensation: The salary range is $93600 $114400. This position is eligible for bonus incentive compensation up to 17.5% of base salary.

Working conditions and physical requirements:

This job operates in a professional office and testing lab environment that routinely uses standard office and lab equipment.This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 role is based in Louisville CO with the expectation that the individual will work in the CableLabs testing lab 80% of the time on average. An understanding of network technologies and testing methodologies across both wireline and wireless devices is required.
