Maintenance Specialist

Hiring Pay Range: $25.56 to $31.94 per hour
Pay Grade: 109
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Full Pay Range: $25.56 to $38.33 per hour

Position Summary:
Under general supervision of Recreation Services Supervisor performs a variety of manual and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of grounds facilities and buildings that are part of the City of Prescott. Monitors defendants assigned restitution to ensure they meet the requirements of the courts and the City of Prescott Legal Department. Reports back to the City of Prescott Legal Department and Courts with compliance or non-compliance
Essential Duties:
- Operate wood chippers mowers trimmers in the care and maintenance of assigned areas.
- Use and maintenance of hand and power tools.
- Transport waste debris to transfer station for proper disposal.
- Help maintain public facilities and grounds
- Assist in the set-up preparation and clean up for special events
- Clean various park areas and areas that fall under the parks department including restrooms
- Schedule and coordinate work crews
- Supervise and assign work crews to community service jobs as established by City Court the City of Prescott and the Recreation Services Department
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked by those assigned
- Maintain file of services completed
- Analyze operational problems and make recommendations to correct or improve procedures
- Keep records files logs ledgers etc. of activities in order to provide accurate documentation of work performed or information that can easily be retrieved
- Compiles data for administrative analysis
- Prepares reports or summaries of data from records
- Serves as a representative of the City of Prescott
- Perform graffiti removal duties by cleaning power washing or painting over all reported or found graffiti document and record the location type and description of the graffiti removed
- Night evening weekend and split shifts may be required.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum three (3) years previous experience in general maintenance and/or construction required.
Licensing Certification and Other Requirements:
Must have excellent customer service skills. Must possess valid Arizona Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or obtain within six (6) months of hire date. Must possess valid Arizona State Applicators license (Turf and Ornamental & Right of Way Categories) within twelve (12) months of hire date.

Physical Demands And Working Conditions:
- Sufficient to effectively and safely perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and city vehicle as needed.
- Able to lift 75 pounds. Must be able to see clearly with correction if necessary during both day and evening hours and in potentially adverse weather conditions.
Successful candidate will receive a post-offer pre-employment background screening to include:
- Drug screening
- Motor vehicle records check
- Criminal background screening
