Location: Sanford FL 32771
Shift: 10 hr Days 06:00 PM - 04:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)
Job Summary:
The Nurse Manager provides leadership accountability and oversight for the delivery of safe high-quality patient care in the critical care department on a 24-hour basis. This role ensures compliance with nursing standards policies legal and regulatory requirements while promoting an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care. The Nurse Manager is responsible for developing and implementing ongoing programs that measure and improve nursing care quality patient safety and service excellence within the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee nursing practice policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Promote continuity of care through collaboration with physicians patients and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment.
- Develop monitor and improve quality initiatives to enhance nursing care delivery.
- Work towards hospital-wide improvement goals including core measures patient safety and service excellence.
- Coordinate patient care with other hospital departments and services.
- Maintain appropriate equipment and supply levels to ensure quality care.
- Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve outcomes and experience.
- Foster a culture of patient-centered care and maintain a quiet healing environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients families and interdisciplinary team members with empathy clarity and respect.
- Ensure the patient and family are informed of the patient status and care plans.
- Encourage effective departmental communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of recent (within the last year) acute care leadership experience in the ICU.
- Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree (APRN) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse (RN).
- NIH Stroke Scale certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor certification to be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PALS Instructor certification to be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
