What you will do forHarris County Precinct 4 (HCP4)
Harris County Precinct 4 seeks a qualified individual to serve as a Lifeguard at the Mary Jo Peckham Aquatic and Fitness Center. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of participants in aquatic settings providing swim and water fitness instruction supporting community center operations and performing assigned clerical and facility maintenance duties.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor aquatic facilities to ensure participant safety and respond effectively to emergencies with urgency and professionalism.
- Provide swim instruction and water fitness programming to individuals of all abilities with patience and encouragement.
- Support the Community Center Manager and Assistant Manager in day-to-day operations by demonstrating initiative and accountability.
- Assist in maintaining a friendly welcoming and safe environment for all participants.
- Communicate Harris County Precinct 4 programs and resources to participants as appropriate.
- Supervise both disabled and able-bodied participants in aquatic and non-aquatic activities.
- Perform pool and facility maintenance tasks including cleaning and equipment care.
- Carry out clerical duties such as answering telephones maintaining files and preparing documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
Licensure/Certification:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:- Ability to perform lifeguard responsibilities including water rescues lifting up to 50 pounds and sustaining physical activity.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to operational needs.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate programs and suggest improvements.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to embodying heart in community service hustle in daily performance and higher standards in professional conduct.
