Job Announcement:
The City of Websters Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Utility Equipment Operator. The purpose of this position is to maintain the Citys utility services. This is accomplished by monitoring the Citys water and sewer systems and skilled operation of equipment to maintain and repair water and sewer systems. Other duties may include responding to emergencies and interfacing with City employees and citizens. This position requires occasional on-call duties in the evenings and on weekends and provides direction to other employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational administrative or technical nature which may be obtained within six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalent. Over one year of relevant experience required.
- Valid Texas CDL Drivers License required.
- Preferred Equipment Operator Certification
- Preferred Class D Water and Wastewater Operator Licenses from TCEQ
Special Requirements:
Operates Citys equipment by using backhoes tractors box blades and various types of mowers forklifts saw cutters dump trucks and wood-chippers.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in selected equipment during the interview process.
Must be able to obtain TCEQ Class D Water and Wastewater licenses within 6 months after hire.
This is an essential services position. Employees in essential services positions will be required to provide services in the course and scope of their employment for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Websters citizens per the Citys Emergency Services Guidelines.
