Job Description:

Job Purpose:

Assists with the efficient processing of raw materials to and through the sorting baling and/or shipping systems by exercising safe and careful material handling procedures while adhering to established categories and standards. When performed effectively this position will reduce losses and maximize sales and profitability.

Experience Requirement:

• Proven ability to do physical labour in a warehouse environment

Education Requirement:

• Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent

Working Conditions:

This is a permanent full time position

• Back room sorting and stock warehousing with consideration for safety factors

• Constant attention to perform job safely is required.

• Intermittent exposure to varying changes of heat or cold dependant on seasonal variances

• Predetermined deadlines must be met

• Work requires long periods of repetitious tasks

• Substantial physical effort is required for lifting and movement of heavy boxes and furniture and operation of some equipment

• Constant high level of lifting standing walking bending and twisting Health & Safety

• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment through compliance with Health & Safety regulations

• Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion.

Compensation:

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions internal equity and candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
