Key job responsibilities
APAC Procurement is seeking a project manager with strategic and cross-functional project management experience to continuously achieve the organizations mission. The role of this position is as follows.
1) Project Management (80%)
Manage and execute multiple projects to lead to success in order to improve Amazons procurement process in Amazon Japan and APAC countries. The projects are for Procurement Organization Optimization Process improvement and their target includes various ideas regardless of procurement items such as supply chain building cost engineering development of global tools and so on.
Collaborate with each buyer team and digital tech team in each country and Finance department as project members. Lead project members toward the right direction that you think optimal based on the information given even under unstable uncertain complicated and ambiguous situations. Make full use of stakeholder management skills and risk management skills and lead the projects to success.
Report regularly the status of the project to domestic and overseas stakeholders and management including APAC Procurement PMO (Program Management Office) in conversation and in document in both Japanese and English. Increase visibility into projects and obtain appropriate support and participation for projects. The main stakeholders are GPO management APAC leadership PMO APAC procurement members and Japan Engineering departments Operations departments and Finance departments depending on the project.
Go on an overseas business trip and have direct meetings and workshops with local members if you decide that it is necessary for project implementation. The main destinations are assumed to be India and Australia.
2) Project Management Office (20%)
Build and spin mechanisms and business processes in cooperation with APAC Procurement PMO and APAC procurement in order to execute projects with a constant quality.
Provide skill support for other project managers to plan and execute projects and select project manager personnel and develop them so as to lead project by themselves in order to scale execution capabilities for projects across APAC organizations.
