Facilities and Maintenance Team Leader

Job Summary

Lead and direct a multi-functional and multi-shift team of technicians and skilled craftsmen engaged in repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment support equipment plant support utility systems and vehicles. Maintain facility and equipment in compliance with local state and federal code requirements.

Provide technical support for high precision equipment operations in support of machine reliability accuracy and technical problem solving

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise train and mentor a team of maintenance technicians or engineers.
• Assign tasks coordinate workloads and create weekly work schedules.
• Monitor team performance provide feedback and conduct performance appraisals.
• Promote a collaborative work environment and lead problem-solving efforts.
• Address employee complaints and resolve conflicts in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure the team follows all company policies procedures and safety regulations.
• Ensure all training requirements are compliant to customer and internal requirements.
• Oversee the maintenance repair and troubleshooting of all equipment machinery and facilities.
• Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Respond to emergency calls and breakdowns ensuring timely and effective repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities documenting findings.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maintenance Connect) to manage work orders track equipment history and control inventory.
• Analyze root causes of equipment failures and develop countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
• Order and maintain inventory of tools supplies and equipment.
• Liaise with other departments (e.g. Production Quality) to ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare reports on work completed maintenance costs and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed.

Job Qualifications

• MUST BE A U.S Citizen.

• Proficiency of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word Excel and Outlook etc.).

• A minimum of 6 years experience in a leadership position in a manufacturing Maintenance/Facilities environment.
• Background using CMMS (ex. Maintenance Connections) for managing PMs and down equipment repairs.
• Knowledge of NEC codes regulatory requirements and safety requirements as related to Maintenance/Facilities functions.
• Understanding of building systems
• HVAC & refrigeration experience
• Chiller water systems & cooling towers
• Understanding of personnel safety requirements
• IT skills.
• Candidate must also possess excellent computer skills robotics and PLC experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with machine motion control systems is a plus.

• Performs analytical/technical troubleshooting machine reliability analysis and provides education to maintenance technicians. Collects machine downtime data to develop trend analysis on equipment downtime/frequency/problem data
• Provides guidance to maintenance technicians or support personnel in repair efforts assists in procurement of equipment repair parts and technical data/information and provides overall support for all aspects of maintenance/manufacturing operations.
• Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance.
• Manages the manufacturing organizations budget in support of the companys goals and objectives.
• Ensures appropriate communications and interaction with technical support and engineering groups in order that technical issues are addressed in a timely and complete manner.
• Reviews competitive posture of unit with in-house and /or outside suppliers of similar products and recommends strategies to be the lowest cost highest quality provider of products or services.
• Develops specific short and long range plans and programs together with supporting budget requests based on customer requirements.
