Job Summary
CloudSmiths is seeking an experienced AI Solutions Architect / Tech Lead to lead a team in designing architecting and delivering secure scalable and compliant AI solutions. Reporting to the AI Practice Lead this role is pivotal in translating complex business problems into feasible architectures on cutting-edge cloud and open-source platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a build squad to deliver AI applications on time and budget driving the technical roadmap for practice accelerators and shaping project Scopes of Work (SoWs).
- Architect end-to-end AI solutions by translating business problems into feasible architectures selecting optimal models and retrieval patterns and defining data and control planes.
- Map use cases to the right stack for the job (Vertex / Azure / OSS) with a comparative TCO analysis.
- Implement and codify essential governance including cost controls safety guardrails and prompt versioning conventions to ensure born-compliant delivery from day one.
Required Education & Skills:
- A Bachelor of Social Science Degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Technical expertise in designing secure scalable blueprints for agentic AI applications on GCP (Vertex AI) Azure (AI Foundry/OpenAI) and open-source frameworks like LangChain/LangGraph.
Travel Requirements:
- This role may require some travel to client sites within South Africa.
