We know how to identify and implement innovative solutions for our clients toughest challenges.Position summary:Roy Jorgensen Associates Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Area Manager to perform and oversee highway maintenance operations in theMemphis TN area. The project is a multi-year performance-based transportation asset management contract with Tennessees Department of position requiresincident management coordination as well as supervision of in-house maintenance crews and area managers which includesa variety of tasks related to highway maintenance including but not limited to potholepatching drain cleaning vegetation management sweeping ground signs road patrol incident responseand more. Adherence to all applicable federal state and local regulations as well as Jorgensen company policies and procedures.
Required Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of construction related experience Basic knowledge Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Google Earth Strong leadership qualities; must have experience in overseeing directing and leading construction crews.
Preferred Experience:
- Maintenance of Traffic Certifications
- Knowledge in Herbicide application/licensing in Right of way and aquatic pest
- Planning scheduling and estimating
- General knowledge with regards to highway lighting
Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Operating and maintaining company vehicles and equipment
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
- Ability to operate hand/power tools
- Obtain herbicide license with in 6 months of hire
Schedule:
Full time; Must be flexible able to travel and work varying schedules.
