Position Overview
QinetiQ is looking to hire an experienced Configuration Management Engineer to support engineering production and operations activities across QinetiQs US Sector with a focus on product realization. The selected candidate is responsible for supporting the management of Configuration Items and Configuration Data on complex hardware and software systems and will serve as Configuration Management Lead on multiple projects and programs. The candidate will serve as the final approval authority for contractually required product configuration information and other documentation and will support multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure best CM practices and compliance to group- and customer-specific processes.
Responsibilities
- Manages configuration of complex hardware-focused systems intended for eventual manufacturing.
- Manages reviews and provides input on engineering and manufacturing data for those systems.
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert on the configuration of those systems.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all configuration management related activities during both design and development and production.
- Leads a multi-disciplinary team responsible for managing assessing and controlling changes to baseline configurations of software hardware and other assets.
- Responsible for the following processes on all supported programs:
- Requirements development.
- Documentation development.
- Configuration identification.
- Configuration control.
- Configuration change management.
- Configuration accounting and/or configuration verification.
- Monitors and supports configuration management processes and tools.
- Provides user support and troubleshooting issues with configuration management software and processes
- Performs and coordinates audits of systems and software to verify compliance with established baselines
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering (or STEM with Engineering Experience)
- 2 years of related work experience in Engineering or Configuration Management and Requirements Development
- Experience with both Hardware and Software Development
- Strong knowledge of the CM principles and practices of EIA-649 MIL-HDBK-61A
- Must hold an active Secret or higher level clearance #qinetiqclearedjob
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Windchill PLM/PDM
- Experience with ASME Y14.100
- Experience working in both Development and Production environments
