The Global Economy and Development program at Brookings aims to shape the policy debate on how to improve global economic cooperation and fight global poverty and sources of social stress. For over two decades the Center for Universal Education (CUE) has been at the forefront of global policy research focused on inclusive education and skills development. CUE works closely with networks of international partners to accelerate educational progress and systems change so that all learnersespecially the most marginalizedcan develop a breadth of skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The center helps develop policies and actionable strategies related to global education for and in partnership with policymakers at all levels of government funders civil society and the private sector.
Position Location: This position is hybrid. Hybrid positions combine regular in-person presence at our Washington DC office with the option of two days of remote work each week.
Please Note: This position is included in the staff bargaining unit Brookings United affiliated with the IFPTE Local 70 union and is covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
This position will be a one-year termed appointment subject to extension if fundings is available.

CUE is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the work of the centers Millions Learning team. Reporting to an Assistant Project Director the Project Coordinator will work on projects associated with the Millions Learnings Research on Scaling the Impact of Innovations in Education (ROSIE) project and other related research initiatives. The Project Coordinator will have the opportunity to support other research teams within CUE on project coordination tasks as assigned.
Project Coordination and Support (75%)
Provides primary administrative support and coordinates the planning execution and follow-up related to virtual and/or in-person meetings and workshops;
Drafts key takeaway notes from virtual and/or in-person meetings and workshops for review by the Millions Learning team;
Organizes the projects events calendar including scheduling and drafting agendas for meetings sending out invitations and managing RSVPs
Coordinates travel and event logistics for international events including supporting with contracting processes scoping and coordinating with vendors and supporting with travel arrangements;
Closely monitors project timelines and work plans communicates upcoming deadlines and priorities and works closely with members of the Millions Learning team to ensure smooth on-schedule implementation of project activities;
Tracks and proactively identifies relevant virtual and/or in-person global education events through which the project could share findings connect with other actors etc.;
Regularly tracks and inputs relevant data into project monitoring evaluation and learning (MEL) plans and trackers;
Serves as a primary point of contact with ROSIE focal points regularly communicating via email and related platforms about relevant project activities deadlines events etc.;
Coordinates with internal colleagues from finance development and communications departments for related activities to coordinate timeline workflows and attention to processes;
Leads the Millions Learning social media presenceincluding overseeing social media dissemination of all Millions Learning products innovating on new knowledge distribution modalities and amplifying the visibility of the work;
Supports with tracking and submitting project expenses; and
Other administrative duties as assigned.
Research Coordination (25%)
Proofreads briefing documents project reports concept notes interview transcripts and other internal and external written research documents;
Manages citations for external written research documents including reviewing accuracy and formatting;
Coordinates quality review process for external written research documents including communicating timelines with peer reviewers and editors;
Coordinates design copy editing and translation processes for external written research documents including scoping and coordinating with external vendors submitting contracts to finance team and tracking timelines;
Collects organizes and tracks data submissions and documentation from research partners;
Monitors and summarizes current events and research related to the field of scaling in education;
Serves as a project liaison and note-taker during frequent calls and related exchanges with partners and colleagues related to the ROSIE project;
Drafts and formats slide decks for scholar presentations of research; and
Other research coordination duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree in sociology economics international affairs education political science or related social science field required. Strong academic record. Minimum of two years of work experience in project coordination and logistical support in an academic; think-tank or NGO; or similar environment. Prior experience organizing events and meetings with senior stakeholders. Experience living working and/or studying abroad is a plus. French language fluency is also a plus.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key to this positions success including editing and proofreading. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs required. Cooperative attitude and flexibility with the ability to work as part of a team with remote members. Experience with remote work a plus. Administrative experience and sharp attention to detail. Ability to multi-task meet multiple deadlines in a timely manner within a fast-paced work environment. Professional demeanor high cultural competency and level of comfort working with diverse individuals from around the world. Ability to work well under pressure with poise and discretion and to exercise mature judgment. Knowledge of global education issues strongly preferred. Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
Complete fluency in written and spoken English is required.
