As a part of our outstanding Social Impact team the Director of 211 Alberta (211 Ab.) works collaboratively with delivery partners (Canadian Mental Health Association - Edmonton The Distress Centre Calgary) to lead the strategic implementation of the 211 service across the province. This role is the lead for grant deliverables including financial accountability and stakeholder relationships and engagement while convening and coordinating partners to foster effective collaboration. The Director supervises staff participates in relevant networks and committees and contributes to broader United Way initiatives. The position exists to strengthen community connections and enable responsive accountable service delivery through 211 Alberta. This position reports to the VP Social Impact. This is a contract position to March 31 2026 with the strong possibility of extension.
Day to Day Duties:
- Drives the advancement of 211 Ab. and priorities by working with delivery partners to direct program planning and implementation; acting as a United Way (UW) and 211 Ab. representative at meetings events and on committees; attending team meetings
- Oversees 211 Ab. including the direction of work conducting problem solving mitigating risks decision making and ensuring communication and information is shared between teams and committees development and execution of 211 projects including operationalizing frameworks systems processes and training.
- Supports the 211 Ab. Brand by providing information and data to the Product & Brand team to inform content development.
- Coordinates 211 Ab. support during provincial emergencies. Acts as primary contact to liaise with stakeholders.
- Oversees funding applications including writing submitting and reporting on internal applications in addition to responding to stakeholder inquiries and funding requests.
- Conducts research and professional development related to emerging trends and developments within the discipline
- Facilitates stakeholder engagement and education opportunities through events or activities
- Establishes and maintains key stakeholder relationships to strategically enhance 211 Albertas mission.
- Maintains communication with 211 Ab. governance providing timely and accurate information necessary to function and make informed decisions.
- Liaises with United Way Centraide Canada to support alignment to 211 work occurring nationally.
- Facilitates cross-organizational collaboration and provides advice guidance and recommendations to internal clients cross-functional working groups and committees.
- Supports and advances organizational leadership and culture.
- Leads recruitment efforts for the 211 Ab. team including hiring onboarding and performance management.
- Directs team projects and work including planning resources and assigning andmonitoringactivity. Provides input and direction toteam assigns responsibilitiesassistswith removing barriers to completing work and monitors and reports on progress.

You have a post-secondary undergraduate degree in Business Social Sciences Humanities or related field a minimum of ten (10) to twelve (12) years of related experience and a minimum of three (3) years to five (5) years of supervisory experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
