Your role & work environment
An opportunity has become available to become part of the Product Control CEM & EQD team in Amsterdam. The role of the Senior Product Controller CEM & EQD will functionally report to the Lead Product Control CEM & EQD.
As Senior Product Controller you deliver optimal financial accounting processes and solutions for Financial Markets (FM) Product Control. You will continuously look to improve performance accounting and reporting processes related to Product Control. You will work closely with the FM traders and provide analytics and insights in the financial controls and performance of the desks. Furthermore you will work closely with your Trading Risk colleagues on Valuation and Market data topics.
Product Control oversees the various internal and external accounts of FM desks and the daily bookings made on these addition the Product Control CEM & EQD team is also responsible for the day-to-day reporting of Profit & Loss and ensures controls the correctness of the financial data in the different tools.
At transaction level Product Control checks whether the entries are correct and anticipates incorrect entries in more complex files by making proactive arrangements with the services concerned regarding the correct action to undertake.
Your key responsibilities
The key responsibilities for the role are:
Assure the day-to-day P&L Reporting is controlled and executed for your FM desks.
Contribute to the monthly closing process for the domains you are responsible for.
Collect verify and validate the financial data provided to Financial Accounting.
Analyse the data recognize and explain relevant trends and exceptional events.
Analyse the reconciliation between the position keeping system and both product and general ledger advice on administration of changes to the accounting system.
Establish the link between the accounting figures and the business.
Prepare the content of the FM NL Parameter Committee and ensure all P&L related risk and issues are highlighted and addressed.
Prepare documentation and support material to assist the management and business partners in their decisions.
Support the roll-out the Financial Reporting and Controls framework for Financial Markets for your desks.
Interactions with internal and external auditors.
Contribute to finance related projects to ensure PC function has appropriated IT platform to use.
Closely follow market developments and continuously engaging with Front Office to stay up to date with their trading strategy.

You recognise yourself in the following:
Graduate or post-graduate degree holder in Finance/Economics or equivalent.
5 years of experience in a (business) control risk management accounting and/or product control activities in Financial Markets and Treasury position.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English.
Intrinsic drive and high level of self-motivation.
Collaboration skills and ability to work across both functional and geographic lines.
Stakeholder management and relationship skills.
Pro-active and ability to take initiative.
