DescriptionThe Department of Mathematics and Physics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Pittsburg State University invites applications for an Assistant Instructional Professor of Computer Science.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach introductory undergraduate courses in Computer Science
- Provide service to the university college and community
- Exhibit a commitment to student success
- Participation in recruitment and retention efforts
- Provide support to other institutional efforts
Required Education and Experience Time of Hire
- Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
Candidates must hold a Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field. This degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge skills and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
Preferred Education and Experience
- PhD in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Experience teaching undergraduate Computer Science courses (1 yrs)
- Evidence of exceptional undergraduate teaching
- Industry experience in Computer Science (1 yrs)
Job Type: Unclassified Faculty Non-Tenure Earning Renewable Annually
