Position Overview

Micron is seeking a highly motivated graduate student to join the Memory Pathfinding team as an intern. This 6 month internship offers a hands-on opportunity to explore memory innovation in advanced computing systems with a focus on AI architectures workloads and applications. Interns will receive mentorship from experienced architects and contribute to system-level modeling benchmarking and competitive analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop system models for various architecture configurations and use cases
• Automate system and tradeoff analysis for performance power and TCO metrics
• Benchmark enterprise and data center workloads at the system level
• Conduct competitive analysis using emulation and simulation platforms

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• Strong foundation in computer architecture systems modeling and simulation
• Familiarity with memory subsystems and architectural tradeoffs
• Experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g. PyTorch TensorFlow JAX)
• Understanding of AI workloads and system-level performance bottlenecks
• Ability to conduct independent research with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Agentic AI systems and their architectural implications
• Hands-on experience with system-level benchmarking and tradeoff analysis
• Interest in emerging AI technologies and their impact on memory design
• Experience presenting technical findings to multi-functional teams

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

Our salary ranges are determined by role level and location.
