Projects ManagementJob Duties
Interpret diagrams job specifications and blueprints.
Lay out install and repair wiring and electrical fixtures.
Install electrical systems and equipment including distribution equipment branch circuit equipment lighting signs fire alarms indicators and machinery tie-ins.
Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Plan new or modified installations to minimize material waste ensure maintenance access and comply with electrical codes and job specifications.
Provide daily progress reports to the supervisor including completion status challenges and remedial actions.
Record daily work hours.
Connect cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
Test circuit continuity to confirm electrical compatibility and component safety.
Measure cut bend thread assemble and install conduit; pull wiring through conduits.
Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Monitor equipment and electrical systems for hazards or the need for adjustments relocation or replacement.
Preview order and obtain electrical materials and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of tools equipment and work areas.
Operate vehicles to transport self and materials to job sites.
Participate in meetings with Facilities Services and Design Construction Management.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects.

Required Qualifications
Education: Technical or trade degree. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Work Experience:
Experience working with voltage ranges from 24 to 600 volts.
Experience grasping holding lifting and manipulating a variety of hand and power tools.
Certifications/Licenses: Valid drivers license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification: OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Work Experience:
Experience with Fire Alarm Systems.
Experience using Workday Teams and Outlook.
Experience working in a college or university setting.

Type: Regular Compensation Statement: The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to education experience and training qualifications relative to the requirements of the position and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
