Job Description
Role Overview
The Manager: DevOps Lead is responsible for leading the DevOps strategy platforms and practices across the enterprise. This role ensures that development and operations teams are supported with the right tools pipelines and automation to deliver secure reliable and scalable systems. The DevOps Lead drives the culture of continuous integration continuous delivery and operational excellence while aligning with enterprise engineering governance and compliance standards.
- Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Systems or related field (mandatory).
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA MSc in IT/Engineering) advantageous.
- Professional Certifications (preferred/required):
- Cloud certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Azure DevOps Engineer Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer).
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA CKAD).
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform Ansible Puppet Chef).
- Security/Compliance certifications (CISSP CISM or cloud security).
- Agile/SAFe certifications (Scrum Master SAFe Practitioner).
- Relevant Experience
- 812 years experience in DevOps cloud engineering or infrastructure roles with at least 35 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven experience building and scaling DevOps practices in enterprise or fintech environments.
- Hands-on expertise with CI/CD automation container orchestration (Kubernetes Docker) and monitoring tools.
- Strong background in cloud-native architectures and hybrid cloud platforms.
- Experience implementing SRE practices observability and incident response frameworks.
- Familiarity with regulated industries (banking fintech telecom healthcare) preferred.
- Core Skills & Competencies
- Deep expertise in DevOps tools cloud infrastructure and automation practices.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to grow high-performing DevOps teams.
- Excellent knowledge of security compliance and governance in DevOps.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to balance innovation speed-to-market and operational stability.
