Position Purpose:
The Technology Assistant will support the technology needs of a competitive swimming facility. The ideal candidate will apply their expertise in IT and AV to troubleshoot issues and maintain equipment with the ability to work a flexible part-time schedule to accommodate the unique demands of the facility and its events.
Position Criteria:
- Associates Degree in Technology related field preferred
- Familiarity with aquatics software (e.g. Colorado Timing Omega Daktronics Meet Manager Hy-Tek etc).
- Basic AV/IT troubleshooting (networking streaming cabling audio setup).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours (meets often run evenings/weekends).
- Comfort working in a poolside environment (humidity noise water safety awareness).
Performance Criteria:
- Event Prep Take-Down & Coordination
- Coordinate pre-event technology setup with meet organizers officials and facility staff.
- Assist in testing livestream equipment and ensuring connectivity for broadcasts.
- Provide pre-meet training or guidance to volunteers/staff on operating timing or scoreboard systems if needed.
- Coordinate post event technology take down and storage.
- Event Operations
- Oversee the computer operations within the Natatoriums Meet Management Suite.
- Run Swiss Timing Computers work with the livestreaming computers run Swiss Dive system and run the videoboard during competitions.
- Hardware & Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of lane timing sensors scoreboard panels cabling and video boards.
- Perform maintenance and coordinate repairs with vendors or district IT.
- Technical Documentation & Training
- Maintain updated documentation diagrams and standard operating procedures for system setup.
- Assist in training other staff or student helpers on safe and proper equipment use.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all technical setups comply with district safety and security policies and electrical/AV best practices.
- Adhere to data privacy standards (especially if livestreaming athletes).
- General Technical Support
- Provide AV support for other aquatics-related events (presentations award ceremonies etc.).
- Assist with inventory and tracking of aquatics technology assets.
