Designer Land Development
Location: Lake Mary FL
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Designer Land Development to join our civil engineering and land development team. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who wants to contribute to meaningful land development projects while growing technical skills in site design utility layout grading storm drainage and Civil 3D modeling. You will collaborate with engineers planners and project managers to deliver high-quality design documents that support successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Apply and uphold CAD and design standards to ensure consistency and accuracy in plan production.
Prepare construction drawing packages incorporating redlines notes and technical specifications.
Contribute to conceptual site designs detailed layouts and utility infrastructure plans (water sewer stormwater).
Develop preliminary and final grading plans 3D surface models and perform earthwork analysis.
Use Civil 3D to create and modify alignments profiles surfaces and pipe networks.
Assist with storm drainage design erosion control and sedimentation plans.
Support coordination with internal teams consultants and project stakeholders.
Participate in QA/QC processes and construction administration support.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met from concept through construction.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
14 years of civil engineering or land development experience preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D strongly preferred.
Engineer Intern (EI) certification or on path to PE preferred.
Strong attention to detail organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative mindset with willingness to learn and grow within the profession.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork.
Frequent computer use requiring sitting typing and repetitive motion.
Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds frequently and 30 pounds occasionally.
