Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts Call coverage after hours and weekends on a rotating basis.
Here at Nuvance Health now part of Northwell we are seeking to add an experienced Sonographer to our growing per diem team. Our Medical Sonographers ( Ultrasound Technician Diagnostic Medical technologist Radiological Tech ) provide health care services applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Our sonographers perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in the following areas: OB/GYN abdomen pediatric extremities and vascular procedures. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration. PRN rate based on full years experience and ranges from $50.57 - 63.22/ hour plus shift differentials.
Job Summary:
Performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for the diagnosis of disease in accordance with established protocols.
Duties:
- Explains the test to the patient
- Instructs and assists the patient in assuming the physical position for examination.
- Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure - makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the organ to be examined the depth of field and other specifications of test
- Obtains permanent record of internal examination by adhering to PACS/Archive protocol.
Requirements :
- Bachelor of Science degree is preferred but not required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification will be required before orientation
- Must have at least 1 year of prior experience
Registered with EITHER:
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography(ARDMS)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT):RT(S)
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International(CCI): RVS.
