Job Description
This is a hybrid position at least 4 days a week in the office. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead and execute a diverse portfolio of cybersecurity projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of initiatives that protect our organizations assets data and reputation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and excellent communication and leadership skills.

The position requires the ability to thrive in a team-oriented product-focused environment. The ideal candidate will be driven by the challenge of solving unique problems in a compressed timeframe while balancing the needs of the business and the constraints of timeline/scope. The role will require someone comfortable with some ambiguity/minimal direction and that can thrive in a rapidly evolving environment.

What Youll Do
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for various cybersecurity initiatives including but not limited to:
    • Security infrastructure upgrades (e.g. firewall SIEM IDS/IPS).
    • Implementation of new security tools and technologies.
    • Vulnerability management and penetration testing programs.
    • Incident response and disaster recovery plan development.
    • Security awareness training programs.
    • Compliance and audit readiness projects (e.g. ISO 27001 NIST SOC 2).
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT engineering legal and business units to define project scope requirements and deliverables.
  • Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans including timelines resource allocation and budget management. Monitor project progress and ensure on-time on-budget delivery.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.
  • Communication: Provide regular clear and concise project updates to all stakeholders including senior leadership. Prepare and present project status reports and presentations.
  • Methodology: Utilize and champion best-practice project management methodologies (e.g. Agile Scrum Waterfall) tailored to the specific needs of each project.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors involved in cybersecurity projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in project management with at least 3 years specifically managing cybersecurity or IT security projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity domains including network security application security cloud security and data protection.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g. Jira Asana Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
  • Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g. CISSP CISM CompTIA Security).
  • Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g. HIPAA GDPR PCI-DSS).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) and their security services.
