Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
Registered Nurses (RNs) provide direct patient care administer medications and coordinate patient care plans. They work in various healthcare settings including hospitals clinics and long-term care facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
- Assess and monitor patient health status and vital signs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
2. Collaboration:
- Work with healthcare teams including doctors and other nursing staff to deliver optimal patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and education.
3. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).
- Document patient progress and any changes in condition.
4. Patient Education:
- Educate patients about health conditions medications and post-discharge care instructions.
- Provide guidance on lifestyle changes and health management.
5. Emergency Response:
- Respond to medical emergencies providing critical care as needed.
- Participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives.
6. Supervision:
- Oversee and mentor nursing staff and nursing students if applicable
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable.
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Texas
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
- Experience: Prior nursing experience especially in relevant specialty areas is advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency in using healthcare technologies and EHR systems.
Working Conditions:
- RNs may work in a variety of settings often requiring shifts that include nights weekends and holidays.
- The role may involve physical demands including standing for long periods and lifting patients.
