Position Summary:
Findlay Automotive Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivatedStaff Accountantto join our Corporate Accounting team supporting a multi-location dealership group. This role is responsible for maintaining financial records preparing reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles experience in financial reporting and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains accounting data in accordance with department policy and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
- Prepare and post journal entries reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist in conducting internal audits of dealership departments (sales service parts finance etc.) as needed
- Analyze financial records transactions and reports for accuracy and completeness
- Help identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with various departments to gather data and generate reporting
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive financial information
- Utilize CDK (Dealer Management System) for accounting functions and reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Knowledge of standard accounting practices and experience with accounting systems; Prior experience in DMS a plus but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interest in the automotive industry and dealership operations is a plus
