Job Description
A prominent provider of high-quality construction materials in the United States is currently seeking an Equipment Operator to join its team at the Chase Quarry in Middle River MD. This role involves the operation and configuration of various heavy machinery ensuring optimal performance and conducting regular maintenance and quality checks.
Key responsibilities include the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as loaders excavators and bulldozers as well as performing daily inspections and basic maintenance tasks. The Equipment Operator will also be responsible for transporting and stockpiling aggregates while adhering to safety protocols and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent have experience operating heavy equipment and be prepared to work in challenging outdoor conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety standards.
Requirements
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Field of Study Preferred: N/A
- Required Work Experience: Experience operating heavy equipment including but not limited to skid steers loaders excavators and backhoes.
- Travel Requirements: 25%-50% of the time
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to work in harsh outdoor conditions including heat cold dust and varying weather.
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to pass a 7-year criminal background check including felonies and misdemeanors.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen as required for the role.
- Good physical condition to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials as well as stand bend and work in physically demanding environments.
- Basic understanding of quarry operations and material handling processes (loading unloading and transporting aggregates).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team taking direction from supervisors and collaborating with coworkers.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Education: High school diploma or equivalent Must have own mechanical tools (Any specialty tools that are needed will be provided) Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience performing the functions listed above in a construction, building materials, manufacturing or industrial environment. Mechanical skills, physical strength, practical skills, problem solving orientation, and customer service abilities. Proficient in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems Ability to prepare work estimates and quotes Experience conducting routine services and vehicle maintenance Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations. Ability to lift 50lbs Reliable transportation Licenses Required: Valid Driving License Good Driving Record Welding skills highly desirable (CW,CW,CWE or CWRT) Additional Requirements: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
