The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees promoting and retaining a highly skilled work are also responsible for supervising the activities of the Surveillance Department on an assigned shift which includes scheduling and training to ensure the effective protection of assets and compliance with gaming regulations; day shift supervisor reports key activities issues and incidents from swing and grave supervisors to the Director of Surveillance.
The Surveillance Supervisor:
- Is responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor for employees in order to provide superior customer service.
- Assists Director of Surveillance in hiring and training and responsible for motivating evaluating and supervising staff to ensure employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
- Reviews and oversees all surveillance reports generated; swing and grave supervisors prepare summary reports of daily activities and incidents for day shift supervisor; day shift supervisor presents overview of important issues progress and status reports representing all department operations to manager.
- Assists in establishing implementing and monitoring department objectives standards guidelines and budget to achieve proper supervision of department.
- Participates in any court actions relating to gaming violations at Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in order to represent facts as obtained by department.
- Maintains daily log and reports to ensure that adequate and accurate information on surveillance activities are kept for future access.
- Reports all observed violations of gaming regulations and procedures to Surveillance Director or Table Games & Slots Director in order to adhere to reporting requirements of Belterra Casino Resort & Spa management and the Gaming Control Board.
- Maintains all current information on various cheats thieves vagrants etc. to ensure the protection of company assets patrons and employees.
Qualifications :
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with customers other surveillance supervisors and the manager as well as all levels of employees.
- Ability to read comprehend and write legible reports.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas; this position is required to climb to catwalks and work in cramped quarters.
- Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.
- Ability to look over players and identify and observe cheating techniques; must have 20/20 corrected vision.
- Ability to use all equipment associated with the position including Vicon video systems Sensormatic video system vindicator alarm system computers system and adding machine.
- Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
- Knowledge and understanding of gaming operations rules regulations and statistical and daily games reports.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal State and Gaming regulations.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school education or equivalent and a minimum of two years surveillance experience. Previous supervisory experience helpful.
