PC to Sergeant Promotion
Applications are invited from internal and external substantive Police Constables on promotion as well as transfer opportunities for external substantive Sergeants.
Applicants must be suitably experienced competent and credible for immediate promotion to rank of Sergeant in the West Midlands Police.
Constables must have a minimum of three years police service and have successfully completed their probation period along with having passed their NPPF Sergeants Examination of Law and Procedures.

Process:

All internal candidates are required to have a conversation regarding their suitability for immediate promotion with their respective line manager before applying.
Applicants must obtain a signed form confirming the support of their Chief Inspector (or equivalent).
Applicants must not have a live sanction from misconduct proceedings. Applicants under investigation can still apply but if they are successful cannot be posted until the investigation has been concluded and would also be dependent upon the outcome of the investigation.
