Job Description

Overview:


We re looking for a seasoned OpenShift DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Automation team as a Senior Consultant. In this strategic role you ll lead the design and deployment of Kubernetes/OpenShift solutions champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and build secure scalable CI/CD pipelines. You ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative infrastructure solutions that meet business objectives while adhering to enterprise standards and controls.

This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in automation containerization and performance optimization and is eager to collaborate across teams to drive innovation and excellence.


Location: GTA Hybrid 2-Days a week


Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure as Code Development
    • Design and develop Kubernetes/OpenShift deployment templates and operators
    • Automate deployment processes using tools like Ansible Operator
  • CI/CD Pipeline Configuration
    • Build and configure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Tekton
    • Ensure seamless integration and delivery workflows
  • Containerization and Security
    • Build and manage containers using Podman
    • Implement container security best practices including scanning hardening and SELinux configuration
  • Infrastructure Deployment and Automation
    • Deploy and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
    • Deliver repeatable scalable and secure infrastructure solutions
  • Monitoring and Observability
    • Configure and manage OpenShift monitoring tools
    • Integrate with Splunk and Dynatrace to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaboration and Leadership
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business goals
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure successful project delivery


Requirements

  • 8 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments and operators
  • Experience with OpenShift templates Tekton pipelines and Ansible Operator
  • Proficiency in building containers using Podman and securing them with SELinux
  • Strong background in infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective time allocation decisions
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Commitment to teamwork accountability and bringing your authentic self to work
  • High attention to detail and a focus on delivering quality outcomes


3-4 years of experience working in data, analytics, engineering, or a related field. Experience with building or managing a data pipeline in production. Familiar with data SLOs, validation, and pipeline health best practices. Experience in migration from large monolith tables to domain-specific entities derived from microservices. Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in SQL, Tableau, Qlik (Strong Preference). Experience with programming languages including R or Python. Strong proficiency in data tools such as Databricks, dbt, and cloud technologies such as AWS and GCP. Conceptual Understanding: Solid understanding of normalization, schema evolution, and transitive dependencies. Familiarity with data handling concepts (Loading and Transforming Data). Location: Toronto CA Hybrid, onsite 3 days/week normal week is Tuesday and Thursdays on site with one day flex.
