About the Office:
The Mayors Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) advises the Mayor of the City of New York on criminal justice policy. MOCJ develops and implements strategies with partners inside and outside government to reduce crime and incarceration and to promote fairness and legitimacy. MOCJ works with law enforcement city agencies non-profits foundations and others to implement data-driven strategies that address current crime conditions prevent offending and build strong neighborhoods that ensure enduring safety.
About the Role:
The Budget Analyst under the supervision of the Budget Director supports the planning monitoring and reporting of MOCJs budgetary activities. The Analyst assists in the day-to-day operations of the budget and grants processes including data tracking financial documentation and compliance with City procedures. This role requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and an understanding of public sector budgeting.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Assist in the preparation and monitoring of agency budgets and financial plans.
-Conduct routine financial and variance analysis to support budget planning and reporting.
-Maintain accurate records of expenditures budget modifications and funding allocations.
-Prepare and submit budget modification requests in NYC Financial Management System to ensure alignment with contractual and operational needs.
-Draft Fiscal Certifications for requests received. Track and monitor submission statuses.
-Provide assistance in the review and reconciliation of grant expenditures and support the submission of revenue recognition documents within the NYC Financial Management System.
-Coordinate with internal staff and external agencies including the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on budget-related inquiries and updates.
-Participate in the development and maintenance of tracking tools and reports to support financial decision-making.
-Assist with procurement tracking and support purchasing coordination across teams.
-Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications :
1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative analytic coordinative supervisory or liaison responsibilities
3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a states Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question 2 above
4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions 1 2 and/or 3 above
