The Role
Oversee transportation department employees and assets. Responsible for the hiring training and supervision of transportation team drivers and support personnel. Organize scheduling and timely delivery of all shipments. Manage and maintain the transport fleet while ensuring compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations that govern the transportation industry and the State of Oregon.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans policies and budgets for improved profits and services. Direct activities related to routing dispatching and tracking transportation vehicles.
- Plan organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a timely manner consistent with organizational requirements.
- Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative and procedural policies as well as safety and government rules and regulations.
- Promote a safe work environment by conducting safety audits attending company safety meetings and meeting with individual staff members to discuss areas of improvement.
- Manage and maintain all fleet and supporting equipment requirements including maintenance repair and replacement of trucks trailers vans rentals and any other company fleet vehicles. This includes all licensing and registration requirements.
- Ensure the company is compliant with all permitting and regulations along with monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Practice root cause analysis method in cooperation with government agencies to determine causes of transportation injuries and vehicle accidents.
- Complete new hire and annual employee performance reviews.
- Collaborate with other managers and staff members to formulate and implement policies procedures goals and objectives.
- Support all other departments as delegated by the General Manager
Qualifications :
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation management.
- Current driver license medical card and driving record in good standing.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Customer service driven.
- Professional positive demeanor.
- Working knowledge of FMCSR and State Regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

This is a safety-sensitive position.
