About the Role
Coventry Building Society Arena is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of one of the UKs most iconic multi-purpose venues. This is a pivotal leadership role ensuring the arena remains operationally ready safe and capable of delivering world-class experiences for fans visitors and event clients.
As a key member of the senior leadership team you will manage cross-functional operational teams drive service excellence and ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards. You will also play a strategic role in shaping the arenas future ensuring it remains fit for purpose and aligned with evolving commercial legislative and sustainability demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all operational functions across the arena including facilities safety security and event delivery.
- Ensure the venue meets the highest standards of safety maintenance and customer experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Coventry City Football Club (CCFC) Coventry City Council the Safety Advisory Group and other regulatory bodies.
- Oversee the planning and execution of major events ensuring seamless coordination and operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across operational processes.
- Support the commercial success of the arena through strategic planning and operational adaptability.
- Ensure compliance with all health safety and environmental legislation and best practices.

- A strategic thinker with a proven track record in operational leadership within large-scale venues stadiums or similar environments.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust-based relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- A motivational leader who inspires high performance accountability and collaboration.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to remain composed and balance strategic priorities with operational realities.
- A proactive solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Deep understanding of customer service excellence and cultural awareness.
- Experience working with public sector partners sports clubs and regulatory authorities is highly desirable.

NEBOSH
NVQ 4 Spectator Safety
Desirable:
Prince 2 Project Management 7
Senior Leadership Qualification L7 or similar
